Extended Warranty FAQ

LITE/ STANDARD/ PREMIUM Warranty

Star Shield LITE plan is a basic coverage plan that provides limited protection to your devices and is valid for 6 months. The STANDARD plan is an upgrade that provides full protection to your devices against manufacture defects and is valid for 2 years. The PREMIUM plan is an advanced plan that provides similar coverages as STANDARD with the addition of Accidental Damage Protection. This includes screen cracks, battery replacements, power surges, data backup and fire, flood or home theft protection. For a full list of the coverage difference, refer to the coverage chart here

LITE plan holders are entitled to one claim while STANDARD and PREMIUM plan holders are entitled to more than one claim according to its repair value.

The LITE plan is applicable to Challenger Value Club members who purchased a PC/Notebook. The STANDARD plan is applicable for all PC/Notebooks, tablets, mobile phones and printers. The PREMIUM plan is applicable to all PC/Notebooks, tablets and mobile phones. Do note that the Microsoft Surface products are only eligible for the PREMIUM plan. All of our plans extend your manufacturer’s warranty up to a maximum of 4 years. If your manufacturer’s warranty is valid for 3 years, the extended warranty will only be valid for 1 year.

You may visit any of our store with your faulty device to submit a claim. For desktops above $600, a specialist will be dispatched on-site to your location for a collection.

Yes, you can still purchase a plan with us. For products that cost $5000 and above, do contact us so that we can keep in touch with you and advise you with an appropriate quotation.

No, our extended warranty plans do not cover water damages.

You may still upgrade your plan if it is within 7 days of purchase. After 7 days, the plans will not be liable for an upgrade.

We are unable to provide software damage coverage at the moment. However, we are working towards the possibility of a software coverage in the near future.

You may choose to cancel your plan at any time after purchase. Do note that a full refund will be given if cancellation is done within 7 days of purchase. No refund will be given for cancellations done after 7 days of purchase.

Yes, all plan holders can still claim their warranty as we keep a digital record of the plans in our database. You only have to present us with the proof of purchase of your device.

You can still purchase a plan with us as long as you have not purchased your device for longer than 9 months.

No, our warranty plans are only valid in Singapore.

We will provide a 1-for-1 exchange of an equivalent device should we determine that your device is beyond economic repair. The device may be a new or refurbished unit equivalent to new in performance and reliability based on availability.

Corporate coverage is applicable for companies who want to use and register their devices for commercial use.

Our warranty plans only cover defects or damages occurred within Singapore. Alternatively, you may still engage our repair services to repair your devices separately for a fee.

Cosmetic damages are not covered in our warranty plans as they do not affect the functionality of your devices.


Accidental Damage Protection

All Apple and Android based tablets are eligible for this plan. PC/notebooks with a retail price below $400 are also eligible for this plan.

This plan protects all covered devices against screen cracks with additional hard disk drive protection for PC/notebooks.

This plan can vary from 1 to 2 years depending on the duration you choose. During this coverage period, you are entitled to one claim resulted from accidental damages, after which this plan will be fulfilled and terminated upon the service event.

There is a $50 service fee for each claim.
